Welcome to LACMA!

Health and safety protocols updated Monday, October 3, 2022

LACMA’s first priority is the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers.

Maintaining some health and safety protocols remains critical to provide a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors of all ages, including those with compromised health and families with children who cannot be vaccinated. These protocols are in place to help protect against the spread of COVID-19. Please read all guidelines below before your visit.

We hope you enjoy your visit!

Construction Update

The four buildings that primarily housed the galleries for the museum's permanent collection have been removed in advance of the construction of our new building for the permanent collection—the David Geffen Galleries. It is projected to be completed in late 2024.

Exhibitions in BCAM and the Resnick Pavilion feature a rotation of artworks from the museum's permanent collection.

Notice to all visitors:

LACMA’s health and safety protocols and processes are implemented for you—our visitors—and our staff and volunteers.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and anyone with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

Masks are strongly recommended indoors for everyone.

Stay at Home if Sick

Stay home if you are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms.

Do not visit LACMA if you or anyone in your party is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 as identified by the L.A. County Department of Public Health, which include cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever, or chills.

Do not visit LACMA if in the last 10 days you or anyone in your party has been in close contact with or without face mask (within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes or any unprotected contact with bodily fluids/secretions) with someone who has COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms during the 10 days prior to your scheduled visit to LACMA, or if you or anyone in your party are currently under isolation or quarantine orders.
